1. Who We Are

ConnCT ("we", "us", "our") is a professional networking platform for Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, Cost & Management Accountants, and related professionals in India. Registered address: Kumbhat & Co., Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

2. Data We Collect

• Identity: Full name, membership/registration number, professional category.
• Contact: Email address.
• Profile: Bio, location, website, profile photo, resume.
• Activity: Posts, comments, connections, messages, saved items.
• Device: FCM token for push notifications, device type.
• Usage: Profile views, interaction timestamps.
• Advertising: Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID), and standard ad-request data such as approximate location and non-precise device information, used by our advertising partner to serve and measure ads. See Section 6.

3. Why We Collect It

• To provide the ConnCT platform and its features.
• To send notifications about network activity.
• To personalise your feed and discovery results.
• To comply with applicable laws including the DPDP Act, 2023.

4. Legal Basis (DPDP Act 2023)

We process your personal data on the basis of your explicit consent given at registration (Section 7 of the DPDP Act). You may withdraw consent at any time via Settings → Privacy Center.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only with:

• Google Firebase (data processor) for infrastructure, authentication, storage, analytics and crash reporting.
• Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) for serving and measuring advertisements in the app — see Section 6.
• Other ConnCT users, to the extent needed for the networking features you use.
• Law enforcement, where required by Indian law.

6. Advertising

The free version of ConnCT shows advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. To serve and measure these ads, Google and its partners may collect and process:

• Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID / AAID), which you can reset or delete at any time in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
• Approximate (non-precise) location, device type, operating system, and app interaction data associated with ad requests.

Ads may be personalised based on this data unless you opt out. Where required by law (for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), ConnCT shows a consent prompt on first launch that lets you accept or decline personalised advertising; declining still shows ads, but non-personalised ones. All users can also limit ad personalisation through their device's "Opt out of Ads Personalisation" setting.

How Google uses data from apps that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's own advertising controls are at myadcenter.google.com. ConnCT does not receive the advertising identifier itself and does not use it to build profiles about you.

ConnCT is an adults-only professional platform (see Section 10). We instruct our advertising partner not to serve child-directed ads and cap ad content to a "parental guidance" maturity level.

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. On account deletion, all personal data is erased within 30 days in accordance with DPDP Act Section 12 (Right to Erasure).

8. Your Rights (DPDP Act)

• Right to Access (§11): View all data we hold about you.
• Right to Correction (§12): Update inaccurate information.
• Right to Erasure (§12): Delete your account and all data.
• Right to Grievance Redressal (§13): Contact our Privacy Officer.

Exercise these rights via Settings → Privacy Center in the ConnCT app.

9. Security

Data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud) with encryption at rest and in transit. We use Firebase security rules to enforce per-user access controls. API credentials are never embedded in the app binary.

10. Children

ConnCT is intended only for professionals aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors, and advertising shown in the app is not directed to children.
